New European Flight Routes 2026: Luxair, Ryanair, and easyJet Expand Services to Spain, Greece, and Beyond

Fresh routes and increased flight frequencies from Luxembourg and the UK open up more of Europe for holidaymakers this year.​​​​​​​

Holidaymakers have a wider choice of European destinations in 2026, as Luxair, Ryanair and easyJet continue to expand their networks with new routes, returning services and increased flight frequencies. The growth spans Spain's Mediterranean coast, the Greek islands, major European cities, and a handful of emerging destinations, giving travellers more departure options and fewer connecting flights to contend with.​​​​​​​

Luxair is operating its largest network to date, with 101 destinations planned for 2026 and 97 available over the summer season. The expanded programme includes nine additional destinations across Spain, Greece, Portugal, Finland, Scotland, and Tunisia.

Spain remains a key focus for the airline. Direct flights between Luxembourg and Alicante relaunched on 1 April, operating twice weekly, while a new seasonal service to Girona began on 2 June, opening up easy access to Catalonia and the beaches of the Costa Brava. Flights to Bilbao also resumed on 16 July, restoring a direct link with Spain's Basque Country.

Greece has gained two new destinations, too. A combined weekly service now connects Luxembourg with Zakynthos and Araxos, unlocking the Ionian Islands and the western Peloponnese for travellers. Elsewhere, Luxair has added services to Porto Santo, Helsinki, and Edinburgh, while Tunis returned to the network in July.​​​​​​​

Ryanair has also expanded its UK operation. Its summer 2026 London schedule now covers 194 routes, including new services from Luton to Wroclaw and from Stansted to Forlì, Glasgow, Malmö and Parma.

The airline has increased frequencies on more than 50 established routes as well, including flights to Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Faro, Lisbon, and Malta, giving travellers greater flexibility around travel dates to some of Europe's most popular city and beach destinations.

Regional airports are benefiting too. Ryanair has added flights from East Midlands to Alicante, Malta and Rhodes, while Newcastle has gained new routes to Brussels Charleroi, Budapest, Malta and Marrakech.​​​​​​​

The combined expansion from Luxair, Ryanair and easyJet reflects strong ongoing demand for direct European holidays, short city breaks and regional airport departures. Spain and Greece remain central to this growth, while destinations such as Slovenia, Finland, Portugal and northern Italy are becoming increasingly accessible for travellers.
