Expectant mothers will receive priority consideration for assistance and rerouting during delays, cancellations or denied boarding. The reforms strengthen access to refreshments, meals, communication facilities and hotel accommodation where necessary, and require clearer explanations of disruptions and passenger rights.
The existing three-hour delay compensation threshold remains unchanged, with eligible passengers able to claim between €250 and €600 depending on the route where the airline is responsible. Pregnancy does not create a separate compensation category, but expectant mothers benefit from the same framework alongside the new priority protections.
