Manchester Airport Passengers Hit By Widespread Delays as Summer Rush Intensifies

More than 20 Manchester Airport departures were delayed, with long-haul flights to Cancun, Singapore and Mumbai among the worst affected during the busy summer travel rush.

Passengers travelling from Manchester Airport faced significant disruption on Monday, 20 July, as more than 20 departures were delayed by over 30 minutes. Long-haul services to destinations including Cancun, Singapore and Mumbai were among those most heavily affected, though no flights had been cancelled at the time of reporting.

The disruption affected a wide range of carriers operating out of Manchester, including TUI, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, IndiGo, Jet2, KLM and easyJet. Some of the worst-hit services faced delays running into several hours, with the longest affecting a long-haul departure pushed back by close to eight hours from its original scheduled time.

Other affected flights included services to popular European destinations such as Amsterdam, Paris, Prague, Krakow and Copenhagen, with delays ranging from around half an hour to well over an hour in some cases.

No single cause was confirmed as being responsible for the disruption across all affected flights.
