Manchester Airport Delays Today: Three Flights Affected, Thursday 23 July

Virgin Atlantic and easyJet services to Orlando, Chania and Barcelona are running late, with no cancellations reported so far.

Passengers travelling through Manchester Airport today, Thursday 23 July, are being urged to check their flight status before leaving for the terminal. Flight information recorded at 9.20 am showed delays affecting services bound for Orlando, Chania and Barcelona, with each running between 47 and 63 minutes behind schedule. The delays come as Manchester Airport moves through one of its busiest periods of the year, with families travelling abroad during the school summer holidays.

The affected departures are as follows:

Virgin Atlantic VS75 to Orlando was originally scheduled to leave at 9.15 am, with an estimated departure now given as 10.17 am.

easyJet U22091 to Chania was due to depart at 12.45 pm, with an estimated new departure time of 1.32 pm.

easyJet U27206 to Barcelona had a scheduled departure of 1.45 pm, now estimated at 2.48 pm.

Passengers on these and other services are reminded that flight schedules can shift throughout the day, and are advised to check directly with their airline for the latest timings before heading to the airport.

As of 9.20 am on Thursday, no departures from Manchester Airport had been cancelled. Travellers are nonetheless encouraged to keep monitoring their flight status regularly, particularly given the high volumes of passengers currently moving through the airport. Manchester Airport is expecting more than 120,000 passengers a day between 17 July and 1 September, with the airport serving a network of more than 200 destinations worldwide during this period.​​​​​​​

Passengers planning to travel to Manchester Airport by tram should factor in ongoing Metrolink maintenance work. Until 2 August, trams on the airport line are terminating at Firswood, with replacement bus services running on the affected sections.
