Flights to South Korea from the UK take around 11-12 hours direct. Seoul is the main entry point, with Incheon International Airport (ICN) handling most international traffic from the UK.
Korean Air and Asiana Airlines operate direct flights from London Heathrow, with the journey taking around 11-12 hours. Virgin Atlantic also launched Seoul routes in 2024. Connecting flights via Dubai or Frankfurt add 4-6 hours but can save £100-200.
UK citizens don't need a visa for tourist visits up to 90 days. From April 2025, you'll need to apply for K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) online before travel.
Incheon International Airport
One of the world's best airports, consistently ranked top 5 globally. Located 48km west of Seoul. Excellent facilities including spa, casino, Korean cultural centre. AREX train to Seoul takes 43 minutes.
Gimpo International Airport
Seoul's older city airport, closer to central Seoul. Mainly domestic flights but some regional international services to Japan and China. Convenient metro connection to the city.
Gimhae International Airport
Serves Busan, South Korea's second largest city. Limited international connections but good for domestic transfers. Located 20km from Busan city centre.
