Malindi is a coastal resort town on Kenya's Indian Ocean shore, about 120 km north of Mombasa. It's been a trading port for centuries and has a strong Italian expat community. The city has a population of around 120,000.
From the UK, fly to Nairobi first. Kenya Airways operates direct flights from Heathrow (around 8.5 hours). British Airways also flies direct. Emirates via Dubai and Qatar Airways via Doha offer one-stop alternatives taking 12-14 hours.
Return fares to Nairobi range from £450-600 depending on season. Domestic connections from Nairobi to Malindi add roughly £80-200 each way depending on the carrier and timing.
Malindi Airport (MYD) is about 2.5 km from the town centre. Safarilink and Jambojet operate daily flights from Nairobi (about 1.5 hours). Some flights connect via Mombasa.
