Sabha is the main city of Libya's southern Fezzan region, deep in the Sahara about 750 km south of Tripoli. It's the gateway to the desert lakes and sand seas of southern Libya. Population around 130,000.
There are no direct flights from the UK to Sabha. The most common routing is via Istanbul with Turkish Airlines or via Cairo with EgyptAir. Tunisair via Tunis is another option. Flight times from London range from 7-18 hours depending on the routing and layover.
Return fares range from £450-600 in low season to £800-1,100+ during peak periods. Turkish Airlines and EgyptAir tend to offer the most frequent and competitive connections.
Check FCDO travel advice before booking. Libya has experienced significant instability, and travel requirements can change at short notice. A visa is required for UK nationals.

Prices tend to be lowest Tuesday-Thursday. Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-October) are cheapest.

Massive Saharan dunes about 150 km northwest. The famous Ubari lakes (oasis lakes surrounded by desert) are a highlight.

Ruins of the capital of the Garamantes civilization, about 150 km north. One of the oldest known Saharan settlements.
