Benghazi is Libya's second-largest city on the Mediterranean coast in the Cyrenaica region. It's the economic hub of eastern Libya with a population of around 650,000.
There are no direct flights from the UK to Benghazi. The most common routing is via Istanbul with Turkish Airlines or via Cairo with EgyptAir. Tunisair via Tunis is another option. Flight times from London range from 7-18 hours depending on the routing and layover.
Return fares range from £350-500 in low season to £650-900+ during peak periods. Turkish Airlines and EgyptAir tend to offer the most frequent and competitive connections.
Check FCDO travel advice before booking. Libya has experienced significant instability, and travel requirements can change at short notice. A visa is required for UK nationals.
