Economy Class
Economy Classic and Delight passengers travelling to India or Pakistan are entitled to two checked bags at 23 kg each. Economy Light does not include checked baggage. One cabin bag up to 10 kg is permitted, plus a small personal item.
Premium Class
Premium passengers receive two checked bags at 23 kg each on India and Pakistan routes. Cabin baggage includes one carry-on bag up to 10 kg and one personal item.
Upper Class
Upper Class passengers are allowed two checked bags at 32 kg each. Cabin baggage includes two pieces with a combined weight of up to 16 kg, with no single item exceeding 12 kg.
Infant Baggage
Infants travelling without a seat are entitled to one 23 kg checked bag (except on Economy Light fares). One fully collapsible pushchair and car seat are included in the free allowance.
Special Equipment
Sports equipment under 23 kg and within standard dimensions is typically carried free within your baggage allowance. Items such as golf bags, skis, bicycles, and musical instruments may require advance notice and additional fees depending on size and weight.
Excess Baggage
Extra bags cost £65 or $100 each for the first two additional bags. Bags three to ten cost £140 or $200 each. Overweight bags up to 32 kg incur a fee of £65 or $100. Pre-purchasing online is recommended.

October to March offers pleasant weather and avoids the monsoon season. January to February typically sees the best balance of weather and pricing.
Peak Travel Periods to Avoid
Fares are typically higher during Diwali (October/November), Christmas, New Year, and UK school holidays when demand peaks. Eid periods also see increased prices on Pakistan routes.
When to Book for the Best Prices
Booking 6 to 10 weeks in advance often gives the best balance of availability and price. Last-minute deals are rare on Virgin Atlantic long-haul routes.
