London Gatwick Airport Delays Today: Friday, July 3, Flight Disruption Update

Crystal Travel | Travel News | 3 July 2026

Several London Gatwick flights show revised departure and arrival times as passengers are urged to check before travelling.

Flight Schedules Shift as Delays Continue

Passengers travelling through London Gatwick Airport on Friday faced a run of flight delays, with several services showing revised times on the airport's live flight information board throughout the day. Gatwick's flight information service continues to update in real time, and travellers have been advised to keep checking their flight status regularly rather than relying on times seen earlier in the day, as schedules can shift with little notice.

Gatwick Arrivals Delayed on Friday

Several inbound flights into London Gatwick arrived later than scheduled on Friday, with some services facing delays of around one to two hours. Based on the checked flight updates, the average arrival delay was roughly 90 minutes, though individual delays varied by route and airline.

Long-haul arrivals can be more vulnerable to knock-on disruption, especially when aircraft land behind schedule and have limited turnaround time before their next departure. Passengers were advised to keep checking live flight updates and confirm the latest status directly with their airline before travelling.

Gatwick Departure Delays Affecting easyJet Flights

Delays were also visible on Gatwick’s departures board on Friday, with easyJet accounting for several revised timings. Based on the checked departures, delays ranged from around 35 minutes to just over two hours, with an average delay of about 65 minutes.

Among the affected services, easyJet flight EZY8521 to Funchal was delayed by 35 minutes, while EZY831 to Belfast saw one of the longer delays at 131 minutes. Other delayed departures included EZY8447 to Nantes, which was delayed by 52 minutes, and EZY859 to Aberdeen, which was pushed back by 40 minutes.

The pattern suggests disruption became more noticeable later in the day, which can happen when earlier delays ripple through an airline’s wider schedule and affect later aircraft rotations.

No Gatwick Flight Cancellations Recorded So Far

At the time of checking, no cancellations had appeared on Gatwick's live departures board. That said, airline schedules can change quickly over the course of a day, so passengers shouldn't rely solely on information checked earlier in the morning. Anyone flying from Gatwick, particularly later on Friday, is advised to check directly with their airline or use the airport's live flight tracker shortly before setting off, as later departures are often the most likely to see last-minute changes.

Gatwick Flight Delay Advice for Passengers

Flight Delay Compensation: Know Your Rights

Under UK Civil Aviation Authority guidance, passengers may be entitled to compensation if their flight arrives more than three hours late, depending on what caused the disruption. Compensation is not usually payable where the delay results from circumstances outside the airline's control, such as severe weather or air traffic restrictions, so it's worth checking the reason given for any delay before submitting a claim.
