India's Largest Airline
IndiGo carries more passengers within India than any other airline. The carrier launched UK services in 2025, connecting London and Manchester directly to India's major cities, with onward connections to Mumbai.
Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
Long-haul flights operate on Boeing 787-9 aircraft leased from Norse Atlantic. The Dreamliner offers a quieter cabin, better humidity control, and larger windows compared to older aircraft types.
IndiGoStretch Premium Cabin
IndiGoStretch seats are arranged in a 2-3-2 layout with 43 inches of legroom. Passengers get priority boarding, extra baggage allowance of 30 kg checked and 12 kg cabin, plus complimentary meals and alcoholic beverages.
Complimentary Meals for All
Every passenger on UK routes receives complimentary hot meals. The menu features Indian cuisine prepared by Oberoi Flight Services. Vegetarian meals are the default, with non-vegetarian options available when pre-booked.

Daily nonstop flights to Mumbai using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft from Terminal 2. Flight time is around 9 hours.

Direct flights to Mumbai from Terminal 2. IndiGo operates weekly services connecting Northern England with India.
Economy Class
Economy passengers on IndiGo's UK routes receive 15 kg of checked baggage with standard fares. Cabin baggage allowance is one bag up to 7 kg plus a small personal item.
IndiGoStretch Class
IndiGoStretch passengers receive enhanced baggage allowance of 30 kg checked luggage and one cabin bag up to 12 kg. Two bags can be checked, subject to weight limits.
Cabin Baggage
All passengers may carry one cabin bag (55 x 35 x 25 cm) plus one small personal item such as a laptop bag or handbag. Weight limits are 7 kg for Economy and 12 kg for IndiGoStretch.
Infant Baggage
Infants under 2 years without their own seat are entitled to cabin baggage only. Strollers, carrycots, and car seats can be checked at no extra charge on IndiGo flights.
Special Equipment
Golf bags, skis, bicycles, and musical instruments require advance notice and are subject to additional fees. Items must be properly packed and within size limits.
Excess Baggage
Extra baggage can be purchased online or at the airport. Pre-booking online typically costs less than paying at check-in. Fees vary by route and weight.
Best Months to Visit
October to March typically offers the most pleasant weather in Mumbai and good value on flights. Monsoon season (June to September) sees lower fares but unpredictable weather.
Peak Travel Periods
