There are no direct flights from the UK to Paraguay. Most routes connect through Madrid or Sao Paulo, taking 14-18 hours total depending on the layover.
LATAM via Sao Paulo and Iberia or Air Europa via Madrid offer the main connections. Copa Airlines connects through Panama City. Asuncion's airport is small but modern.
