Getting into the City

Taxis:

The taxis of Shenzhen are really interesting to know about. Taxis here can be in any one of the three colours, red, yellow and green. The red taxis cover all distances charging a base fare of CHY12.5 for the first 3 KM and then add CNY12.5 for every extra KM. The yellow taxis charge the same fares but cover only the Special Economic Zone of Shenzhen. The taxis which are green in colour cover areas beyond the Special Economic Zone charging CNY7 for the first 2 KM adding an amount of CNY1.6 for every extra kilometre.

Buses:

Buses in Shenzhen comprise of regular buses, mini-buses, and double-decker buses. In spite of over 8,000 buses covering 400 lines of the city, Shenzhen still seems to lack sufficient buses. Buses which run late nights have N added to their numbers. Buses in Shenzhen charge more fares as compared to the fares charged in other cities of China.

Other modes of conveyance in Shenzhen include subways which connect various sight seeing places of the city.
