1. What is an ‘e-ticket’?
E-tickets or electronic tickets have replaced old multi-layered paper tickets and have been adopted by nearly all airlines. E-tickets are valid for travel as airlines hold your reservation in their systems electronically rather than a printed copy.
2. What are the benefits of e-tickets?
The main benefits of e-tickets over traditional paper tickets are threefold:
- They allow you to travel without a paper ticket, eliminating the worry of having tickets lost or stolen. If you lose your e-ticket you can simply go online and print another one because they reside in a computer database network.
- Itinerary changes (where permitted) can be handled more efficiently as the airline only needs to update their database as opposed to physically issuing a new ticket
- E-ticket numbers can be used at self-service desks offered by several airlines as opposed to queuing at check in desks. In short, e-tickets make the check-in process more efficient for you, the passenger.
When you buy an e-ticket through CrystalTravel.co.uk, you will normally receive an e-ticket within 48 hours of your reservation via email.
3. How will I know I have a confirmed reservation and seat assignment?
The email you receive when you make a booking will include a booking reference number. This confirmation number is on record both with Crystal Travel and the airline. If you have a confirmation number, your reservation is confirmed.
To be sure you have your chosen seat assignment, either check-in online 24 hours prior to departure (where permitted) or Crystal Travel recommend you arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure time and check in promptly. We advise all passengers to print out your e-ticket and take it to the airport with you.
4. 48 hours have elapsed, why have I still not received my e-ticket?
Firstly, we apologise for any delay in sending you your e-ticket. Rest assured, your reservation is confirmed and this short delay will have no effect on your flight details.

5. I would like my e-ticket to be sent to me via post, is this possible?
Certainly. If your printer at home is not working or you do not have a printer, then kindly email us at onlinebookings@crystaltravel.co.uk with your name, booking number and full address including postcode and we will send that to you via First Class post.
