American Airlines is a founding member of the oneworld alliance, so eligible AAdvantage members can receive additional alliance benefits based on their equivalent oneworld status.
The AAdvantage status qualification year runs from 1 March through the final day of February the following year. Loyalty Points earned during this period count towards reaching or retaining elite status.
