Jordan Museum: One of the best in the Middle East, the Jordan Museum is located next to the City Hall and exhibits Jordan's history from the Nabataean civilisation to the cusp of the modern era. The main attractions include the oldest-known human statues and a host of remains from Petra.

Qasr Al Abad: One of the very few examples of pre-Roman construction in Jordan The palace of Qasr Al Abad remains impressive but not much is known about this place. Many believe that it was built as a fortified palace by the Hyrcanus of the powerful Jewish Tobiad family.

Roman Theatre: The most impressive remnant of Roman Philadelphia, the restored Roman Theatre is the highlight of Amman for most travellers. With a seating capacity of 6000, the theatre was built in the 2nd century AD during the reign of Antoninus Pius.
